portfolio.andrewkirksey.com is now an abandoned project.
It has been released from my development schedule for the following reasons:
- Google Chrome’s draconian insistance on frightening users with bombastic warnings when sites lack SSL certification required the purchasing of SSL certification for my primary domain, andrewkirksey.com
- Upon SSL Certification did not cover sub-domains of andrewkirksey.com
- Duration of development had exceeded projected timeline of 1 week into 12 weeks.
The enormous time discrepancy was due to professional work obligations overwhelming my ability to service personal side projects.
Also, the development of the supporting plug-in underwent several development cycles as it’s intended scope began to solidify over the first couple of weeks. However I determined the feature creep to be more essential rather than less and am not disappointed by the overall outcome.
Art assets, specifically icon sets developed for the site are being held for future use. If non is found in three months time they will be released as a limited vector icon set.
A custom WordPress Plug-In, Kirksey Portfolio Fields, which captures meta-data and consistently deploys it across post entries, has been modified and re-deployed on andrewkirksey.com/portfolio custom post type and is working reasonably well.
